Brightline Interactive to debut Doritos Crash the Super Bowl: Star in Your Own Super Bowl Commercial
Brightline Interactive, the leader in gesture and touchscreen experiences, is excited to announce the new experience Doritos Crash the Super Bowl: Star in Your Own Super Bowl Commercial.
The experience, which will debut on January 27th at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, will allow users to insert images of themselves onto one of the characters from previous iconic Doritos Super Bowl commercials.
"We're excited to bring our innovative touchscreen to a brand as powerful as Doritos," began Erik Muendel, CEO and Creative Director of Brightline Interactive. "By combining the interactive touchscreen and trademark style of Doritos' commercials, we can attract users in a novel way."
The experience allows users to first take a picture of themselves in a touchscreen kiosk and then transpose a cutout of their faces to be placed over characters of Doritos ads. The effect is a caricature, with the user's head enlarged for comic effect.
"Brightline has created a true experiential activity, by combining entertainment value as well as an engaging interface," stated Brad Lambert of Team Epic. "We are excited to unveil Doritos Crash the Super Bowl: Star in Your Own Super Bowl Commercial at one of America's most cherished sports events."

Fresh Gesture-Driven Timeline App for US Army
Brightline developed a gesture-driven timeline application for AUSA, which outlined a comprehensive history of the army’s progress in the last ten years following 9/11. Through gesture, users were able to explore the compiled information in an engaging way, learning about the army through interactive experience. Erik and his team at Brightline developed this application by using live 3D mapping sensors and open source code (Client: L-3 MPRI).
Brightline has created other custom gesture-driven technologies including two applications for the 2011 Sports Illustrated Heisman Trophy Tour Presented by Nissan. RememberTheMiners.org
It’s been nearly three months since 29 miners in Montcoal, West Virginia lost their lives. Brightline Interactive is proud to have partnered with TRG Motorsports and No. 71 Bobby Labonte to develop a brand and concept to raise awareness for the Upper Big Branch Family Fund at Nascar’s Coca Cola 600 this past Memorial Day. The fund was created by West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins and Big Coal River Native Jason Parsons.
Within three days, we produced and promoted the web site, logo, car graphics and social media pages. Through combined efforts, 4500 people have joined the Facebook fan page where you can honor each of the fallen miners and donate to help the victims’ families with scholarships.
Another huge platform for raising awareness of the fund and promoting RememberTheMiners.org was through Fox Sports. Fox stations around the country had millions in viewers that day, watching the Coca Cola 600 as they followed Labonte in lap 29 of the race, paying tribute to the 29 miners.
The goal is for each of the miners to have 600 fans, bringing more than 17,400 fans to the Facebook page, and an endless amount of awareness. We hope everyone in the Nascar family and beyond will take the time to support their families. This was truly an unforgettable project to work on.
