In 2013, Brightline Interactive was tasked by Philippines Tourism and Pearl Media with creating and programming an interactive kiosk for that immersed consumers in the culture and fun of the Philippines.
Brightline created an interactive kiosk that provided an immersive, gesture-driven experience. Using a Kinect Depth Camera and a 70” LED touch screen, consumers simulated rock climbing and scuba diving at actual Philippines destinations. Following the interaction, users had their photo taken in that location motif and could share their experience over social media platforms via email and microsite. The activation kicked off at New York’s Time Warner Center then made stops at iconic locations in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Vancouver.
The Tourism Kiosk saw an average 1,600 activations per two weeks, 30% of which resulted in shares to social media. The activation received another 500,000 impressions in earned media, as well as a Bronze Award for Best Mall Interactive from Event Marketer’s Digital Out-of-Home Awards.
